HNL connection to Kona

Hi all.
I've booked SYD-HNL on QF 3 in J for next May. This is due to arrive 0920.
I'm going to book an Hawaiian Airlines connecting flight to Kona separately.
1221 departure looks suitable but any advice if 3 hours is enough to clear immigration in HNL and check in for the KOA flight?
 
We made it quite comfortably with a 3 hour connection this year, but we arrived only a couple minutes late.
