Engine Fire on Azur Air Boeing 767 During Takeoff in Phuket

On 4th February 2023, an Azur Air Boeing 767 was forced to perform a high-speed rejected take-off at coughet International Airport due to an engine surge.

They went back to the terminal and de-boarded through the gate.

The twitter video shows someone had a camera rolling at the right spot at the right time.

It’s not a fire! It’s a compressor stall. The engine has shat itself, and is most probably damaged internally.

Actually jet engines are always on fire, and it’s only serious when they aren’t.

Interesting that Azur is a RU operator. Maintenance starting to become more of a challenge?
