HKG-SYD (30k award) can you route via TPE?

Anyone know if you could piece together a HKG-TPE-BKK-SYD award via the call centre

Does it price at 30k (business) HKG-SYD rate

or at 40k (business) TPE-SYD rate

Ah, no amenity kit anyway TPE-BKK. May as well just run with the TG 747 in F.

Apparently you can't specify routing anymore... it's either showing on line (based on origin and destination), or the system will price sectors individually if you want to construct your own fare.

I have seen connections via higher zones however, and still charged at the lower zone. But that was all showing on line as a suggested routing.

The exception to the above is the 'free stopover', provided it's in the same zone.

Been doing alot more reading since my post.

Looks like free stopover is now dead. Instead you get an excursion fare (free one way within a zone, and it has to connect only within the zone).

Looks like i'm doing

BNE-SIN-SGN (SQ) - J (30k)
SGN-BKK-HKG (TG) - J (0k)
HKG-BKK-SYD (TG) - F (40k)

Shame that the excursion fare is only in the same class as segment 1. No availability in F on TG
Also shame the UA flights from SIN and SGN to HKG are all finished

Business award online via TPE was always pricing as 40,000 miles. I've been trying to find cteative routings to maximise flights.

The only *A flight out of DAD (DANANG) is DAD-ICN.

doesn't allow SYD-ICN-DAD as an option at any price
