hi All,
Does anyone know if I can check in at the in town checkin in Hong Kong, and then check further baggage in at the airport? Wife wants to do some shopping... flying J on QF.

Whilst on the topic of in town checkin, what is the process to drop bags at say lunchtime but not head to airport until late (2355 departure)?

Can the checkin be accessed without HK Express ticket, or just buy the ticket in advance, enter checkin, then exit again? I can’t quite recall but I think there was some “trick” to check in but not immediately boarding train?

Will be Kowloon if that makes any difference.

Sorry it’s been a decade since I’ve used the in town checkin!

You need a HK airport express ticket to use the check-in. So buy one at midday, check your bags (as long as you're not flying to the USA), and go shopping for the day. Chack-in at midday for 2355 is fine.

Once you've checked in you just head out instead of going to the trains.

Great, thanks. May be easier than storing at hotel as can then depart from anywhere to airport.
