Home time! We hit the road early to make sure we got back to HNL on time, which turned out to be a good move as we struggled to find a petrol station before returning the car. Check in was easy (no one in the queue) and then we were off to security. This bit was sloooooow. Plus we were stuck behind a rather suspicious looking bloke who kept trying to peer at everyone else's boarding pass.
The QF lounge is a bit of a let-down; small with no much on offer. Had we realised we would have visited the AA lounge instead. Then it was the long hike to the gate, as QF always seems to be down the far end of the terminal. Quick stop via Pandora to grab a charm to mark the occassion. Pretty happy to see that we had Rainbow Roo for the trip home.
A little delayed to board and a bit of a mess when they called J, then WP. Despite being amongst the first on once WP was called, the pax in row 24 were already onboard and had taken all teh overhead space above 23. Asked nicely if they wouldnt mind squeezing up a bit given we couldnt have bags on the floor. FA's more than happy to hang the wedding dress and suit again.
Then it got amusing; shortly after takeoff the CSM came around to do the greeting and asked us about our travels. Mentioned that we had just got married...next thing you know J champagne and heated pretzels were flowing our way.

The crew on this flight was just as lovely as the crew we had going over. Meanwhile the WP behind spent his entire CSM chat complaining about the lack of meals on some Aus domestic flights
Not long after ice cream was handed out, she returned to snatch ours away and replace it with a specially plated dessert.

The FAs kept us happy thoughout the flight, even offering J cheese plates. We declined but accepted the offer of a Baileys. We were also given a little goodie bag of PJs and amenity kits before we deplaned. Overall an absolutely fantastic flight, and a great end to a very special trip. Just a pity the 737 down to Melbourne was quite a let down after that.
And for
@RooFlyer, we're returning to the Big Island next year to do all those things we missed this year
