Hi all

Just read an article from Mashable.com about 10 websites to watch in 2011

10 Websites to Watch in 2011

No 4 is a flight search engine called Hipmunk
Hipmunk: Better Flight Search

Has a nice timeline display (which is the thing worth watching) and seems to cover most published flights. The buy button links to Orbitz and I don't know if the fares are competitive. Anyone used it? What did you think?

Cheers skip

I like the hipmonk interface. It's a bit shaky though, I tried SYD/PVG Dec and returned no results, however, there are quite a number of airlines flying that route

Give it time I guess

I tried a domestic route here, as I generally find those websites to be very US centric, it returned Qantas and Jetstar to an alternate but nearby port (BNE/OOL) but no Virgin Blue or Tiger.

The search options are quite useful, particularly the time one if you know when meal services start and end, and the "agony" button is quite good.

The tabbed search panes, side-by-side are quite good too.

It would be nice if you could search multiple classes, so economy.business/first, not just limiting yourself to one.

I like it and I’ll definitely try it out in the future, but will probably still end up booking direct.

Just did a random search on SYD-PVG and got a lot of result. Looks interesting...

Same, but I searched for Sydney to Shanghai, not using the airport codes. Thought it might work a little better and a whole lot popped up. Then did the same with the airport codes and the list changed again :p

I guess I must be a little dense then Simon ;)

They don’t appear to have flights that far in the future, but if you scale your original search back 1 month, to Oct 13 - Nov 13, there are plenty of options available. ;)
