Lisa and I both enjoy lounging around in the robes and slippers at Hilton. What a great way to start the day, cup of coffee, newspaper, robes and slippers! Great.

It did get me wondering though, that surely Hilton discard the used slippers after use. They don't seem to be of a quality that would stand cleaning and I'm sure they don't expect guests to slide their feet into slippers others have worn, so are these designed as throw away items? I know the robes can easily be laundered, but what about the slippers? Are they disposable items we can take home with us or do they get reused or recycled? Any thoughts?

Most of the Hilton slippers I've seen are in sealed plastic wrappers. Certainly disposable.

I assume you are free to take them. Thanks to my +1, we have enough Hilton slippers at home to start a slipper store!!

I have quite a collection of hotel slippers at home! Oz-mark's better half got me and mine into collecting the slippers to use on long flights when heading to the toilet. (icky)

I love HH robes and have thought about buying one, at 75 as a room enhancement, quite good value

Thanks for the confirmation. Now I feel guilty for leaving them from our past stays and have them go to landfill. Winter is coming and we can certainly make use of them!

Same here. I've got around 100 of SQ ones!

Little bit off topic but Disneyland hotel in HKG also give the smaller guests some slippers as well.

Very big winner for Miss 3 as they have Mickey Mouse and his mates on them.

She has worn them out now.

Not a long term piece of footwear.

They also provided a mini robe for Miss 3 as well

Hilton must have several suppliers for their slippers. Melb are different to bris etc. I suppose one lot could be old stock.

This is just inside the front door at our house.

Not all from Hilton but quite a few.

Ha Ha - my +1 is exactly the same! He just cannot leave the hotel without both pairs of slippers but I insist that he carries them all and that can sometimes amount to many pairs!
I must say they come in very handy when we have a house-full of visitors though.

Unfortunately, some hotels replace the slippers daily if they can"t see the old pair (ie +1 has already put [hidden] them into the suitcase!!); so sometimes after a week's stay, we could end up with 14 pairs of slippers:oops::oops::oops:. Don't get me started on the toiletries...despite a permanent ban that I have placed on her, she seems to take no notice....!

kpc,

I understand the problem :!: :D

+2 kpc. I collected slippers until I exhausted my need, but have always collected toiletries - very handy for guests or emergency use. All packed into separate extra large zip lock bags

The only robes I have found that fit me were in the Westin in shanghai. So I bought one. For AUD$150.00. Really only good in winter. But very comfy!
All robes otherwise are about 2 sizes too small for me. SWMBO though is tiny and they work a treat for her.

My +1 has two or three storage bags in the wardrobe full of said slippers

We did the same. However when the Brisbane floods hit. Mrs GPH made up a heap of emergency kits with shampoo soap tooth brush etc etc and donated. They were a big hit at our collection centre in the Redlands

Hilton seems to have different sized robes as well. Most have 3/4 arm lengths (or I have long arms, one of the two), but in SYD last week, the robes were perfect. Maybe summer and winter robes?
