So as part of our honeymoon I have been looking at standard award availability for rooms across a number of cities including London, Paris, Edinburgh, Helsinki across a number of dates later in the year
I am Hilton Honors Gold and have had about a 50% success rate in finding the hotels we want at the dates we want and booked them in October/November 2019.
I have been logging on about once a week since then to check standard award availability and no luck for the remaining 50% including checking today.
I then did some other planning today that required me to use my VPN, logged in to San Francisco as my location.
I then thought maybe I should check the award availability again with the VPN on, even though I had just checked and what we wanted wasn't available.
Well, guess what, full standard award availability for all the remaining 50% hotels on the dates we wanted.
So I double-checked. Turned VPN off, using a different browser and no availability, turned VPN on and bingo full award availability.
So I, of course, went ahead and booked
Is this a known issue/trick?
Would love to hear others' experiences.
Thanks, motef
