Hi.

Booked and paid for my parents to stay at the Cairns Hilton and they just called me after checking in to say that they were told they are eligible for only $150USD in resort credit. I know the USD is suffering but it's not quite down to 2:1!

Under the promo it's meant to be$150 for 3-4 nights, $300 for 5-6 and $500 for 7 nights or more. Anyone else had any issues with this promo? I doubt anyone in Hilton or at Cairns will care, but gets it off my chest by posting here.

Fairly sure I had to pay a cc surcharge too... Have to love the Aussie tourism industry.

Edit- Problem solvered. They have been granted the full 300USD credit.

I cannot answer your question but have to say that I am surprised with the Cairns Hilton for this approach. In the past I have found that they are exceptionally obliging with these matters.

Re the CC surcharge, you can expect to pay 1.5% for most hotels in Oz these days. The only way around this is to prepay the accommodation.

I did pre-pay, on the website using the advance purchase so maybe I didn't end up paying a surcharge. Not sure what I'm meant to have paid anyway.

I've asked the folks to query the amount with them and found the original hilton website for the offer which is still online so should be able to get it back. They've only just checked in today so the Hilton still has a chance to redeem itself.

I don't think that we ever heard the end reult, or did it go to another thread?

moa999, OK. Thanks. Didn't even notice that the happy ending was actually at the start. Good result for them though. I'm thinking of staying there in June, so have been looking at reviews, etc.
