High Tea

Used to serve scones in First on TAA in the good old days :)

"The special flight marked Luke Mangan’s three year anniversary with Virgin Australia"

I wouldn't be celebrating that.......

The meals in Business I had over the weekend for MEL-BNE-MEL were pretty decent and they were both 'snack' services. The service from the crew was also decent overall I was quite pleased.

Although, the ideas of scones as the meal for a snack services is a good one!

This looked ok:
This is the sort of service any Platinum should expect isn't it? (VA555 this morning)

Damn! I was flying the exact same flight in J about 1.5 weeks ago.

Anyway VA trans-con J is fantastic domestic J product. I had the new config (same as SQ regional J) and everything was great, including the lunch.

I haven't tried QF dom J yet so cannot compare whether QF dom J is better or not.

Can anyone please direct me to the ' Luke Mangan free zone ' ......... What a waste of money and joke the whole ' Luke Luke Luke ' thing is .......... Save us .......please

I think this would be a great option, so long as it supported a full meal service on the SYD PER flight. Its a darn long flight to be served a couple of sambo quarters and a scone.

Also anyone think those people in the media pictures actually look a little bit too perfect to be regular pax? Or are my flights normally just full of uglies?

I love Devonshire tea as long as the tea is made properly and is hot, the scones are fresh and warm, and clotted cream (not the awful whipped variety ) and strawberry jam are used. Hopefully VA was to this standard.

If VA can extend this beyond this Mangan celebration, then I will be pleased. But it also important to have choice too. Maybe I would fly VA more as well.

On my very first Qantas flight overseas in 1983 we were served afternoon tea mid flight after a full lunch! It was the full scones, jam and cream type! Yum ! As the Coodabeens say 'bring it back'!

I am a little tired of the heavy meals on flights, would love to see this in J class on say 3hr+ flights as an afternoon or mid morning service.
If I want a sandwich and biscuit to masquerade as a meal, then I will fly transcon on a LCC, and BOB thankyou very much.

So I'm supposed to believe that not only did he make everything that was served, he also helped with serving it... seems a little far fetched. As for scones, they used to serve them in the J lounge... those were good, fat days :)

If scones is all that is offered I would ask for something from BOB as scones are insulting to me in Business.
I didn't think that Virgin offered a BOB food menu in Y on transcon flights anymore!

Oh please, as if they'd only offer high tea on a trans con J flight. No need to rubbish everything VA does when all you have is a single PR photo.
