Congratulations!

Even the name brand jewelers are significantly cheaper (I proposed with a small token ring from Tiffany before we shopped for the proper ring together, and it was almost 1/2 what it cost in Australia).

Cheers,
- Febs.

Thread is a little old now, however it's worth an update...

For the same price as purchasing in AUS through a wholesaler, I flew to Las Vegas, purchased the entire thing and flew home, QF J seats all the way - and still came out a few K ahead of buying the exact same ring in Australia.

US worked out cheaper than HK, although next on the list would have been Netherlands...

US worked out cheaper than HK

Having spent a bit of time in HK recently and a lot of time in the US, I'm noticing this for pretty much everything. Regardless of the currencies being pegged, the US generally still comes out cheaper.

Cheers,
- Febs.
