Hi

I'm Neil and my wife Donna and I are in our 60's and been flying a few times a year. But now we are retired we intend doing more travelling and looking to hone our skills a bit more on what's on offer with flying tips and tricks.

I also just poseted a discussion about being 5 points short of retaining Gold Status with Qantas which I need to get before 30th June ans whether this can be done without having to fly between now and the 30th? Any advice is apprecitated.

Cheers, Neil

A very warm welcome aboard AFF @Corks58 :)

Green Tier may be your friend (if you haven’t already explored that)

Hello Neil it is very difficult to obtain status points with Qantas unless flying, very occasionally they have status offers such as signing up with BP fuel a couple of years ago.
The Champagne mile web site list a few possible ways ,though I can't say if they work as I have not tried those methods.
Current ways to earn Qantas Status Credits without flying

  • Achieve Qantas Green tier (earn 50 Qantas Status Credits)
  • Leverage loyalty bonuses (earn 50 Qantas Status Credits up to 4x)
  • Points Club Plus roll over (up to 100 Qantas Status Credits)
  • Earn Qantas Status Credits on Classic Reward Flights (earn rate varies and seems to be less available )
