Hi everyone. I’m very new to the whole frequent flyers, miles and points. I just have this question I can’t seem to figure out, if anyone can help explain that’ll be much appreciated!

I currently have 40,000 velocity points. I’m planning to fly to johannesburg South Africa 24th July 2024. Using seats.aero the only flights that are available for cheap points is Etihad for 42,500 points. Is it possible to use my velocity points to book this flight? If so, how? The flight does not appear on virgin website nor does it appear on Etihad. Seats.aero however, tells me I can book it through American Airlines. But when I try, I can’t seem to find anywhere where I can use my velocity points?

Welcome @Jdchan . This will be the first time that frustration hits. The Seats.aero site is telling you that it is 42500 AA points for that award. absolutely no way you are going to get that with VA points.
Stick around and you will certainly learn a lot.
