Hertz (& other) rentals - where do you credit points & why?

By the way that promotion was supposed to be for bookings in January 2013 for rentals up until June 2013 but it would appear that all rentals are included.

How does the Hertz Gold Plus work with the frequent flyer points?

I notice that VS awards an extra 100 miles for being a Gold Plus member and if the booking was made online.

I am currently NOT a member of Hertz Gold Plus. So if I decide to enrol in the program, do I:

1. Advise the counter staff to credit to VS instead of Gold Plus, or

2. Get Gold Plus points, then made a transfer to VS via Gold Plus' rewards program, or

3. Get both VS points and Gold Plus points?

The Hertz website isn't very clear on this, hence I have not enrolled despite having rented from Hertz a few times now.

l signed up to the Europar Privilege Club offer when I got VA WP, have used it ever since, free car upgrades and double points for Platinum Tier Bonus, dont realy hire cars much so pretty happy for the set and forget approach

Now I recalled. I think I may have used CDP 730278 to get the VS special. However by doing this I don't get my discount using my AMEX plat charge card.... and not even sure if it still works the VS promotion.
