Hi again,

Well, I managed to get my Iphone unlocked by Optus - just like everyone said, it was pretty straight forward.

I ended up getting an AT&T prepaid sim card that all I need to do is activate (then I assume I will get my phone number) and pick my plan - should be simple ????

NOT !

For the last three days I have been trying to activate the card - I put in all the required information (SIM Card Number, Iphone IMEI number etc) - it lets me do it all. When I finish all this and press the "create my account" button - it goes to a screen that says "we are activating your account, may take a few minutes", the swirly thing swirls to indicate that something is happening - then after about a minute it gives me an error that the account is taking too long to set up and to try again later.

Anyone able to shed any light on this ? I got the card off ebay and it said that I could put it in my iphone and all that was needed was to be activated ?

Am i missing something here ???

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks

Brooke

Are you not in the US? Surely it’d be easier to just go to an AT&T retail store and get them to do it for you.

Sorry everyone - I know it is an odd question.

I have to have an account to get to Customer Service - can't activate the card, so no account.

I just thought someone may have tried to do the same thing as what I am trying to do - and may have had some tips for me.

I was hoping to get the card all activated and ready to go before we left Aus - but maybe I will have to wait to do it in the U.S.

Thanks anyway :)

I have activated many SIM cards and usually I call up a number printed in the booklet that comes with the SIM and they ask a bunch of questions and 5 minutes later it's all done.

Call wireless customer service 1-800-331-0500, I'm sure they can help you.
