Hi everyone

My Mrs received this targeted 0.5 SC because she had searched singapore flights previously

However my question is.. other than Singapore in the subject and the image, we're wondering if she can earn the promo on flights to other destinations.

No where in the terms and conditions or details does it mention that the flight has to be to SG

Thanks

Lucky her. Wish I got one. From reading that I would suggest she can go anywhere. What status is she at the moment

she's silver, and 100 SC away from gold which is why she's thinking about doing a SC run, but would rather go to Japan than SG for similar money...

At first glance that offer looks like it can be used on any eligible flight with a QF flight number - but there is an asterix!
There should be terms and conditions either included with the email or on the registration page.
If you would like a more definitive answer feel free to share those here or by DM.

thanks for the reply

when we read through the terms and conditions there are no mention of destination

I also had a targeted offer for +50% SC
In the email title, it says "Fly to Auckland, get 50% more Status Credits " but once I click on the link to book, there is no mention about auckland or in the T&Cs

I believe the destination in the subject line is just to catch your attention since you recently searched it. It's happened to me a few times.

Wish I got one sooner, I'm 170 SC away from QF Platinum and 3 more months to go in my current membership year

i got the same targeted promo too this morning after logging into my own account last week and doing some searches for her. so it would seem that the rumours are true that these promos are used as a sort of re-targeting strategy

I've been doing a lot of searching for places all over the world for weeks and haven't received a thing

I just received a similar offer but ostensibly for travel to Noumea - I have searched for flights over the past week but I have done many more searches for flights to Paris. I was actively trying to trigger a 1.5x or 2x SCs offer and it seems to have worked! So this may be the new strategy we have to employ!

In which case I'd be searching for flights to NZ, so that I land a DSC to get me across the line to QF Plat

I don't think it matters where you search for.
The destination only becomes a header in the email.
The offer can be used on any flights.

Logically I would be tempted to recommend searching on routes where they might want to bump the loadings.
But flights to Noumea are always heavily booked because there isn't enough capacity on the routes.
So that doesn't hold true in my case.
However QF has a Europe sale on ATM, and the general DSC offers never came out during sales, so maybe the trick is to search routes not currently on sale?
That could explain why I received an email offer for Noumea and not for Paris.

Now my only question, which I am asking very discreetly and to which I expect equally discreet answers, is whether the targetted 1.5x SC offers work EXACTLY the same way as the general 2x SC offers. In other words, if I get a booking number during the selling period am I good to go thereafter as long as the flights I eventually take are in the flying period?
If you don't know what I am talking about please don't respond.

I tried to employ your suggestion and did a search for flights that are not on sale.

To do this, I first looked into the flight deals that QF currently has on it's website and there's a lot of deals :( Or at least every place that I could do in a weekend or within a day is on sale/deal.

So does this mean that, even if I do a search repeatedly, I wouldn't land a SC promo ? :(

I believe the answer would be in the affirmative to making a delayed booking :)

This is a working theory only. I think you can probably ignore rubbish like "global deal". I think it would only apply to real sales.
