Hello all,

I need some help... i have around 240,000 points that i would like to redeem for travel. I would like to treat myself (perhaps Business somewhere)... and would be happy to purchase up to an extra 20,000 points if required. My pickle is do i spend the points on both myself and my partner (although i am the one that has eared every one of them) or be selfish and take a trip myself which means one ticket would take me to a destination beyond Asia.

A friend of mine is a steward for Qantas and take shifts on a regular basis on the A380. He said that First lovely but is totally overrated and not worth the points outlay. Then again, he is serving First customers and not taking in the actual 'experience'. Would be curious to hear from those who have or experienced First.

At this stage for two of us, points would extend to Asia... for just myself i am guessing beyond.
Thoughts people?

Cheers :p

Why not mix and match? Your partner can fly in economy while you fly in business and/or just fly business in one direction.

if you value the relationship I would advise against booking the partner in whY and yourself in J... SWMBO still brings it up years later

It is all incredibly subjective really. I consider any car costing more than 60,000 not worth it, but then I don't drive :). If you have never travelled J, then that would be heaps of fun for you and you probably don't need anything more. We travel F by preference but I would be quite happy to go J as well. I feel I get enough extra out of F to justify it, but as I said very subjective.

As far as your partner goes if you feel you can enjoy yourself without her then I guess that is an easy decision go for the longer trip. However I just don't find travelling without Mr FM at all nice so I would rather have a shorter trip. We have been together 34 years and married 32, so that makes a difference. :)
