Help with Qantas points accruing thread

Sorry if I'm overdoing it Jessica. I've got my head around the database and am combing the database now. Thanks for everyone's help.

Just for the record, I did search for EDR but still have no idea what it is because everyone uses the letters and never explains what it is!
Here ya go:

Let me Google that for you.

Thanks. Now I see what should have been obvious to me all along. Peculiar abbreviation that.

But I'll pass on the EDR card as there are better and faster ways to pick up points (yes I have actually researched it).

I haven't checked lately, but RB did have fairly keen MEL-LHR return prices when I last checked.

The AFL has cancelled its business with RB due to the actions of the local nutjob who owns the airline, and the rest of us should be avoiding them too ...

Sorry to say but to get to 128k points purely on bonus CC points alone is quite hard.

Well let see

I started with 5,000 points which I had accrued through Optus and other methods.

I have applied for and been accepted for a ANZ cc = 50,000 points
I have applied for a Bankwest bank account = 10,000 points

I propose to apply for a 2nd ANZ cc = + 50,000 points

So far = 115,000 points

But wait there's more.

I will be putting in an application for Acquire rewards= + 5,000 points

So in total that's 120,000 points. Not purely credit card points, but mostly.

You'll need someone else to apply for the second card and do a family transfer of the points as ANZ won't award you a second-round bonus.

According to the 87th page of the ANZ thread on the 50,000 point deal ;

"I have received verbal confirmation from an ANZ regional manager that I will receive 50k for my Black and 50k for the entry level card. The manager mentioned that both her and several of her staff had applied for more than one variety with a view to doing the same."

I would go by what is explicitly stated in the signup terms and conditions:

* Offer available to new applicants who apply and are approved for an ANZ Frequent Flyer credit card account by 27 October 2014. The bonus Qantas Points offer is not available in conjunction with other offers, packages or promotions or when you transfer or close an existing ANZ credit card. The bonus Qantas Points offer applies only once per new ANZ Frequent Flyer credit card account.

Anecdotal experiences are all well and good but cannot be guaranteed to work in every instance. If you don't receive the second bonus I doubt you'd find much success in calling up ANZ and telling them to refer to an AFF thread.

Thumbs up for enthusiasm, and good luck, but I think you're counting your chickens before they hatch. They theory of the number of points required and the ways to easily obtain them is titillating and a great project. But the road from the idea to the execution can have unexpected frustrations especially the first time.

Start getting really excited when the points are safely posted to your account and you have found and booked the redemption you have your heart set on.

No dramas. I'll send them an email and get some clarification. The worst thing that can happen is they can say no, and they may just say yes.

The 80k sign up bonus with the AMEX Platinum Charge Card will see you there. $1200 annual fee though.

Last time i used it to grab the bonus (back in the $900/yr days) I cancelled it after 6 months when the points earning structure was altered and received a refund of half the annual fee. No guarantee though.

This is not a place to be spoon fed. You need to do some work for yourself.
You are right.

A few weeks ago I was watching my 7 month old nephew being spoon fed. He seemed to be enjoying himself. I miss those days.
