Would anyone be able to let me know about loads on my upcoming Cathay flights?
CX 138 on 16/10
CX 921 on 18/10
I am heading off Sydney to Cebu for paediatric open heart surgery mission with Rotary international and am hoping to get upgrade from PE to business....here's hoping! Love these forums, so much great info!

Flight stats will give you the seat bucket availability for free which is a good load indicator.

Thanks, I checked with flights stats as you said...don't really understand all those letters and numbers!

For CX 138 only 2 seats appearing in J class with plenty of seats still for sale in Y so would not be holding ones breath.

For CX921 Economy appears to be very full with 7 seats available in J so could be in with a chance on that one.

Good Luck with the flight and the OP

Thanks so much for that....it is going to be an amazing trip either way!

I think you'd have better chance on the 921 than on the 138.

SYD-HKG routes have been quite elite heavy these days from my experience, recently flew once in Y (absolutely packed) and there were at least 4-5 DMs in economy, including the guy sitting next to me. On the flipside, the crew made sure I had my meal preferences noted and saved the foods I wanted, even though they ran out around half way down the aisle. Pretty good service overall as they always greet you by name etc so regardless of the op-up, I think you'll have a great flight, especially in Y+ over Y.
