Hi guys,

I'm heading to Sydney during easter next year, from 25-27 March and I've found some of the prices to be extremely high for the period, or not available at all. What are people's experiences with booking at around easter? I'm not sure if I should just book or wait it out.

Are you able to book a reasonable Flexible rate somewhere and then monitor if room rates drop there or other hotels?

I would expect room rates will increase for Easter as it is a very popular time for travel.

Hotel pricing can go up and down at a moments notice without warning and for no logical reason. It's likely hotels in the are have set pricing for the Easter period and will adjust rates as inventory is sold - but again this is likely based on many factors. Like jonhnk suggests - lock in a flexible rate now and monitor pricing as the time gets closer to lock in a new, lower rate. I do run a service on stayangel.com that monitors rates automatically and alerts you to price drops instantly. If you are booking through and online travel agent - there are also other options in the market to assist.
