Hi, I would like to get at least 1 avios point so I can purchase avoid points to upgrade my wife from BA economy to PE.

Whats the best way to do this?

If you're Gold and can spare 1 Avios, I would appreciate it - pm me and I'll respond with muy BA FF number

I'm not gold so of course there is a fee

Here are some threads. The easiest thing if someone is in the UK to buy something from a partner or https://www.shopping.ba.com/

Good luck - if I was still in the UK I could collect something for you like I did for someone else.

If anyone is a member of e-Rewards and has a stash of “Opinion points” you can convert to Avios. One transfer every 30 days:

It‘s probably one of the most flexible survey options that converts to VA, VS, FB, BA, IB, AA, UA, EY, HA (and indirectly to QF via several Hotel transfer options - if you’re desperate).

I tried to sign up for the surveys but you have to lie and give a UK address. If I am going to spend many $thousands buying points, I don't want to risk them cancelling my account.
I did a search through the BA online shopping portal and it seems booking a hotel through their link to IHG.com, booking.com or Agoda will work.
The IHG link says points arrive 90-120 days after the stay so not good for someone in a hurry
Other options = budget car hire
Subscribing to the Economist is an option, but I don't have time to read that, so not sure it's worth it

I'm not sure if this helps or not but I recently used BA's click-through shop for a hotel stay and got my Avios about five weeks after, which is much shorter than the 90-120 day timeframe quoted. Best of luck.
