Help Reqd: Bonus Status Credits from Velocity Amex Platinum

This was yet another VA farce. Status is supposed to be a reward for loyal frequent flyers in my book.......not shopaholics.......or worse still CC hoarders.

To the OP, I'd be chasing up Velocity on them about now.

I couldn't agree more, I earned my WP BIS.

I will update this group once I see the SC's in my account.

BTW, I did earn my two years into Silver, BIS and have really worked hard to get to the point where these bonus SC's will push me to Gold (I am at 475).... Else it would have been a wait for another month when I fly overseas.

I'm also a SG who received (and accepted) the offer of 25K points and 150 SC a couple of months ago. The FF points posted pretty quickly but the SC hasn't posted yet so I called the Amex Plat line the other day and they promised to look into it. I'm on the fence as to the appropriateness of getting SC from a credit card offer - it's probably similar to the double SC offers for QF in allowing people to get SC they didn't really "earn".

I'll update when the SC come through.

It looks lime the call to Amex Plat line got it sorted - SC posted today so now SG is confirmed for another year. Not sure I'll get the SC to quite make it to WP - will get to about 150 short I think based on already books trips.

Yes don't call velocity, call amex. I did and it worked. They put a request through their 'marketing' department for the missing SCs. Took about 2 weeks for the 150 SCs to come through. I didn't need them as they would have been wasted with me (BIS re-qual Gold, unlikely to make plat before review date) but was able to pool them to another family member which is handy.
