Mr maaz and myself both have 880 Status credits each but only 2 eligible flights.
We are currently in the middle of a PER-SYD-MEL-PER Classic rewards flight circuit.
I just assumed that flights on QF tickets would count as eligible flights - but now I think I was wrong.

I have messaged Qantas but yet to have a reply. Can someone please tell me if our Classic Rewards flights do or do not count towards our "eligible flight" count?

Next thing then - assuming the worst - while we are here in the eastern states we have a day clear in Sydney and a day clear in Melbourne - are there any suggestions for the cheapest day trips to get our eligible flights if needed?

This is the first year we have been gold QFF so we would really love to be able to maintain it. Thanks for any help.

Sadly, they do not. An eligible flight, is one that earns points and status credits as well as the coveted tilde ~ aka Mr Squiggle.

Thanks for the reply. Looks like a quick return trip to the Gold Coast.

Any Qantas marketed flight (one sold with a QF flight number) or a Jetstar marketed flight with the needed added "bundle", that isn't a reward classic reward flight, counts as an eligible flight.

eg, QF8414 counts, but EK414 (both flight numbers for the same flight) does not.
You need to use cash or Points + Pay, for it to count.

MEL-ADL on JQ (with the bundle) may be an option. The non-bundle prices I'm seeing are $76 for Thursday 25th, and as low as $40 on several dates in October. Maybe post your exact "clear days" and some detailed suggestions might be possible.

Thanks all.
We looked to go to SYD-CBR but that was twice the price as SYD-OOL.
So Gold Coast here we come.
Won't make this mistake again.

We all make mistakes from time to time, even those of us who do this stuff for longer than we care to remember. I’m glad you got this resolved quickly.

All good. All sorted. 4 little eligible red aircraft now and my account tells me I am only 500SC from Platinum. Not even going to try to get there.
Thanks again for all replies. We did QF860 and QF863 SYD-OOL return last week. Ended up costing $600 for the two of us but it was a fun day and we had good seats both ways.
