Hi folks

I have a family of 4 (2 adults, 1 x 4 year old and 1 soon to be born)

I have about 230,000 qantas points and by the time our new bub is old enough for us to want to travel by air again I may have over 300,000.

With that as the benchmark. How would I best use this toward a holiday?

We don't have a tonne of cash and It'd be great to have a family in the next 18th months.

International or Domestic.
Would probably prefer to stay away from places like bali/islands where kids will most likely get a stomach bug

Any help appreciated

You may get a better response if you provided a little more detail, e.g. international or domestic, Y or J qty of reward flights, can you cover one revenue? Your starting location and an idea of what you may like to do.

Where are you and what do you like doing, beach, package, self drive, mountains, deserts........

As has already been mentioned, you need to provide more information.
Are you going to redeem points for all flights or a mix of cash and points? What class will you be looking for? How soon after baby arrives will you travel? ( it’s a brave man / woman who does long haul with a very young baby) And where do you want to go?
And most importantly, what status (if any) do you have to make things easier when looking for seats?
My guess is domestic or closer international destinations is most likely going to give you the best result when using points.

If you are fearful of international destinations (which appears to be the case with blanket statements about Bali and the Islands), head up to North Queensland for a resort-style holiday.

If you are looking for a relaxing start and end to the trip, Sydney to Cairns is, for example, 83,000 points return for each person in business class.

If you travel before the youngest is 2 yo they can travel free on your lap.
This would make a huge difference.
Where are you based?
