Help me reach Gold by August 31

Hi,

I need some help to achieve to gold by August 31st this year.


Taking in to account future travel at the beginning of August I will have:

  • 42,000 FF point
  • Need 200 status credits for gold

Can anybody help me out with the most economical (points + pay) way of achieving gold through status run(s)?

I am in Adelaide.

Best I have found is
ADL-XSYD-CBR Jasa 24000pts $90 cash for 100sc
Return you would need extra 6000 pts and happy days . Can do in 1 day also
 
So return it would give me 200 SC and cost $180 - is that correct?

That being the case I could purchase some point or transfer from Hilton Honors??

As a new person the lingo and codes mean nothing to me. That's why I was asking if someone can spell it out for me.

ADL TSV return is same points cost but earns more points back and 120 SC, suggest topping up via Epiqure and looking at spending the 48K on that run plus $$$$
 
I presume TSV is Townsville - which according to a search can be done in one day.
 
correct - If you aren't sure of an airport code you do a Google search for "TSV airport" and it will confirm it for you.

So it looks like ADL-XSYD-CBR Jasa 24000pts $90 cash for 100sc is the best option as I can't do ADL - TSV in one day.

Any other same day options out there?

Hi Wesley,
You may not be aware but the most economical use of points to gain SCs is not by booking Points + Pay in the on-line booking window.
You cannot book the flights at the rates mentioned in this thread on-line, you need to call QFF and follow a particular procedure.

There are links to several other threads to give you the information on how to do it as well as a spreadsheet to compare the SC runs that members have sussessfully booked.
There is considerable research to be done to firstly understand how to go about this, then secondly how to find the best yeilding flights and then present those options when you ring.
If you do the basic research first, it is much easier for everyone here to help you find your way.

So I have tried the below twice and get the same response from QANTAS = 50 SC's for whole trip??

If you want to book an Any Seat Award that books into the Classic Award fare classes, follow this process:

1. Check on-line for classic award availability. If Classic Award availability exists, proceed to next step.
2. Call the new special phone number (1300 366 587) 9am-5pm EST Mo-Fr and ask "I would like to book a Classic Award fare as an Any Seat Award please".
3. You should not be charged any Telephone Assistance Booking Fee for the reservation
4. If the agent does not understand the request, ask them to check with a supervisor and try reversing the request above to "I would like to book an Any Seat Award in X/Z/U/P class" [these are the classic award fare classes for economy/premium/business/first]

The reference card used is known as "Right on Q" number 7740 which might help nudge those agents who aren't sure what to do. Also asking for an 'Any Seat Award booked into U class' is better than asking for 'Any Seat Award at Classic Award rate

It sounds like they're giving you a YASA rather than a JASA. You may need to emphasise the "U class" bit a bit more.
 
OK... so I got a knowledgeable consultant and after about 30 mins she said I could do ADL-SYD-CAN or ADL-SYD-BRS in J with 48,000 points plus $550 ??

Has anybody ever done the following to get 200 SC's and cost $194 ??[TABLE="class: cms_table, width: 743"]
