HI there, I am the new kid on the block and need your help. My husband and I will be returning home from London in the New Year and want to do "hops" along the way, i.e. stop at several countries and stay for a week or a few days, depending on the country. Are we able to get an "open ticket" to do this or should we just get tickets from each country as we go? Cost, of course is a factor, but I am not sure of the in and outs of this sort of travel as we usually just fly direct! Thanks in advance,

Firemansam,

Welcome to AFF.

A little more information would make it easier to answer your question. Do you have airline preferences and/or status would be a good one to start with :?:

Hi Bill - sorry! We are lowly Bronze Qantas FF's with no status to speak of other than having about 45,000 points. We would like to fly either Qantas or Emirates, but don't really care (so long as the airline has a "policy" of keeping their planes in the sky). We will be travelling from London to Sydney Australia and would like to stop at several countries over about a 4 week period from say late April to late May. We intend to plan a route, but thought we would check on the ticket idea first!

Any suggestions at all would be great!

As there are quite a few countries along that route that you could stop at, do you have any that you really want to visit. Something you really want to see or do perhaps?
