Hi Folks,
after years of saving points and not spending them, the time has come.
My husband and I are planning a few months in Europe from mid-January, preferably with a 5 day stopover in Hong Kong and arriving in Rome or Paris. We might also want to come back via South Africa. There's also a friend in Abu Dhabi who we'd like to visit, but not essential.
How much of this could be covered by the following points? and how do I go about booking it. I understand that the Altitude travel agency is expensive. Velocity currently has a 25% bonus for transferring points, but then that still leaves my 73,000 reserved points unused. Are there any other bonuses available? such a minefield and I've spend about 6 hours on it today.
I welcome any advice, thank you!!

We currently have 412,000 points, 73,000 of which are reserved.
The conversions as given by the altitude site are:
411,840 Alt =3,033 Air New Zealand Airpoints
412,000 Alt =242,707 Malaysia Airlines Enrich points
412,000 Alt =206,000 Virgin Blue Velocity Points
412,000 Alt =206,000 Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Miles
but I think this is not accurate because of the reserved points-
<Altitude points earned on transactions dated before the 9th March 2004, can be redeemed for Frequent Flyer points indefinitely at a ratio of 1:1 for Malaysian Airlines Enrich points and 80:1 for Air New Zealand Airpoints. For example, this means that the 20,000 Altitude points will convert to 20,000 Malaysian Airlines Enrich points. Points earned on transactions from 9th March 2004 will be redeemed at a ratio of 1:0.5 for Malaysian Airlines Enrich points, and 160:1 for Air New Zealand Airpoints.>
