This question is addressed to those who have had to live overseas for protracted periods, beyond the coverage of travel insurance, which will be my situation later this year.

Our comprehensive health cover is currently with Medibank Private, at about the highest rate. I have seen discussion in publications aimed at expats that they should look at having cover with a company that is international. Allianz and Bupa are two that come up. We will be based in Dublin (Ireland) and covering Europe including Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, UK, possibly Morocco. Contacts may take me to India and Mauritius and while this is less certain it remains a possibility.

Any experiences, suggestions and feedback please, on service, coverage, cost, etc. I am looking to change while still here in Oz.

Thank you. Bill.

I have insurance with AIA here in TH; I did also look at Bupa and Allianz I chose AIA simply because my friend was able to get me good deal - had she not been there to advise, I would have chosen either of the others.

Another company that I checked out was Mondial (underwritten by Lloyds if I remember correctly) who offer a variety of insurance from H&C through to Life - could be another option to follow up on.
