On the Singapore Airlines website, I am wanting to book a HBA-SIN flight and pay using a combination of KF miles and credit card. However the option to use miles doesn't appear. I tried a MEL-SIN dummy booking and that does give the option to pay with a combination of miles and money. Any ideas?

I don’t think this airline combination is bookable online. You could call, but recent call centre feedback isn’t great.

I would try searching on virgin australia website and seeing how the points cost and fees compare to KrisFlyer. Depending on the comparison, it’s an option to transfer your points to Virgin. Just remember that 1.55KF transfer to 1 VA.

Yeah, can’t book a rewards flight out of Hobart on SQ. I ended up booking HBA-SYD separately on KF miles, just for peace of mind if the flight was delayed. You can on Virgin points.

Yeah, annoying! How does booking HBA-SYD separately give you peace of mind for flight delay?

I ended up booking MEL-SIN on KF miles and booked HBA-MEL separately on Virgin with cash. Hopefully there's no delays!

I booked it as a SQ Flight on KrisFlyer points. Both the domestic and international are in my SQ bookings. I would hope it counts for something if Virgin flight is delayed.

I already took a big hit when I converted my Virgin point to KF miles when Virgin were on the edge of bankruptcy due to COVID🙄

You can book HBA-SIN via VA. However you will need to transfer KF points to Velocity. Plus there may be less availability via VA. I’m having the same issue right now. I really want the security of having one ticket from HBA, but it limits availability.
