We are booked for Hawaii for 7 nites (holiday) my husband is now thinking HE may need to fly to Seattle for 1 day ( work)
Plan would be HE would leave Honolulu on a late red eye flight ,arrive Seattle early morning, do his "business" & leave later that same day back to Honolulu.
I am concerned that may pose some issues with Immigration?????????
We have done our ESTA visa for Hawaii only.

Does anyone forsee any issues with this, besides disrupting our holiday, even tho' I will stay put.

Thanks.

Your ESTA is for entry into the USA, and his flight to SEA will be domestic so no immigration to clear.

ESTA asked where you were going in the US but it does not ask for any future details so as Maca44 says 'just do it'

I guess my concern is that on the ESTA form our "address while in the US' is a hotel in Hawaii & then my husband is flying to the mainland for 1 day.
I am worried the US customs people will take issue with this, even tho he is flying domestic but with an Aust. passport & might make it difficult for him..??????????

Not really.

The address is for your first night only. Consider the situation where you are moving around the country during your stay.

During our trip to the US in Sept/Oct last year we had about 8 different addresses and they did not ask for or expect us to provide them all.

Our American friends may be paranoid but they are not totally stupid :!:

As mentioned, this is a domestic flight so you do not clear customs again. You are already in the USA.

As others have noted, there's no concern about where you're staying.

However, the only thing I'd be careful about is declaring the purpose of your husband's visit. In the past, I have declared "vacation" (n.b. not "holiday" -- that means something else in the U.S.) when travelling for a two-week road trip and a one week conference, but when clearing immigration, they've changed that to "business".

I can't remember if that is required information for the ESTA, however, if it is, it may be worth changing that information for your husband. I believe that you can update your ESTA registration at any time, so that shouldn't be a problem.

BTW, enjoy Hawaii -- one of my favourite places. Let me know if you have any questions about what to do there.
