I will be flying to Hnl from MEL with Hawaiian and virgin blue- wanting to make use of the interline agreement. I know when I go through from Melb my luggage will go straight through and I am aware that when I return I need to collect my luggage- go through customs and then checkin to Virgin blue.

My question is- does Virgin have a checkin counter at the international airport to cater for internation passengers requiring domestic connections?? I have used the Qantas one previously and am hoping that Virgin have a counter tucked away somewhere for us to check in- and not have to lug our cases to the domestic terminal. I have a feeling I'm dreaming!!! Can anyone help! Ta- ann

Yes, they do.

IIRC, it's in the middle of where T2 and T3 connect at MEL, and also home to the check-ins of Pacific Blue and AirAsia.

It's clearly marked, saying something like 'Domestic Check-In for International Partners', with logos of V Australia, Virgin Atlantic, Hawaiian etc.

Have a look on DJ's site for more info.

Thanks Stuartfaz
But I need it in Sydney-not MEL as it's on my home leg- is it the same setup in Syd international??? Ann

Virgin Blue do indeed have a domestic transfer lounge at the International terminal. Once you clear customs, all you need to do is turn left and follow the signs to "Virgin Blue domestic transfer".

Provided the booking is on a single PNR, the transfer service is complimentary.

Thanks ANstar-
I will turn left on exit from customs-(opposite to the Qantas transfer). It's a pretty tight connection- just under 2 hours and I have been very slow through customs on previous trips and want to be clear on what to do on my return. Now just got to check whether it's on a single PNR- I'm pretty sure it is as it was booked entirely online- one transaction- and MEL-HNL leg is on "my bookings" on the Hawaiian airlines site - so it must be.

Thanks again! Ann
