I'm looking at purchasing a flight Mel-Hnl with Virgin and Hawaiian airlines. Apparently Hawaiian Airlines and Virgin Blue have an interline agreement basically meaning travel agents can issue a single ticket for travel on both airlines, from anywhere in the Virgin Blue network to anywhere in the Hawaiian Airlines network. Also Hawaii-bound passengers around Australia are able to check their luggage all the way to Honolulu when they check in for their Virgin Blue connecting flight.
So I'm just wondering with my luggage allocation- does Virgin honor the international allowance of 2 x 32Kg-(they should with it being on one ticket) or will I be slugged with a massive excess luggage bill on my return Syd-Mel? Expedia have not yet been able to answer this for me. Has anyone had this connection before?
