I voted QF 'through and through' but use Virgin for domestic flights.
I have noticed over the years that the level of service on international flights has diminished considerably. This is a personal view, but it would appear that once flight attendants reach a level where they work more than often on international flights, they don't care as much. It does cause economy passengers to be more agile, because they have to catch the food trays when thrown to them ;). Even though I have been lucky to have flown J over the past 15 years or so, I notice the service in that cabin to be lacking. (especially when compared to Cathay which I few in J recently). Alan Joyce is head of a huge business, so is responsible to shareholders, but they need to be careful...your company is only as good as it's personnel. Once that declines, so does the respect of travellers in general, thus profits.

I have done a fair bit of flying recently for work. Domestic Y. Syd to Cbr has been a frequent route. I complained previous about the cancellations on this route. The last time I flew both my trip down and trip back were cancelled. I had to fight tooth and nail to get on a flight that would get me to my meeting on time (the meeting was two. The original flight was 10.30ish). They rebooked me on to the 2.20 flight! Manages to squeeze into an earlier flight but the level of cancellations is really starting to irritate

Cancellations are very common outside the rush hours into CBR, and out too.

QF have started to cancel PER-East Coast flights at relatively short notice now. I was rebooked on a flight departing five hours earlier and the only other option was another departing seven hours later.

Ended up having to cancel as neither option was remotely acceptable and rebook on VA.

I feel your pain. It has been bad for years, but more so recently. I ended up taking Virgin for the first time ever, because Qantas cancelled the flight I was on and the only option was a flight much earlier, which we couldn't make, or staying another night in Sydney. A few days later our son's partner ended up with a flight 4 hours earlier, which meant she had to take a half a day off work in order to go away for a weekend! We are off to Port Douglas for a holiday on Tuesday and I am checking our flights constantly waiting for the dreaded change.

Bloody Canberra Ops are awful at Qantas !! And of course having no Directives like they do in The EU where you would get compensation. They continue unabated :erm: 01465718397.jpg

Yes, we have stuck with QFF but only recent when we wanted to use our points to fly to Broome, we found the majority of our points were swallowed up over the years, so we decided to fly to Broome and use whatever points we had left!!

After reaching LTG, I had planned on moving to another program due to the "fairer and simpler" cough, but then that other program also changed to make it almost impossible to get any useful status with my travel patterns. :/
so stick to QFF for now.

For most of my flying life I've lived in total ignorance of what else was on offer in the FF game - lucky me! Due to tunnel vision, I've managed to achieve LTG at a fairly decent (youngish) age at 45 ... if I chopped, changed and split my bookings over different FF programs - I'd still be winging my way to LTG.

Now that I'm overwhelming a leisure flyer - I've got zero interest flying another airline. QFFP points are easy to harvest, I've never had an issue securing premium award seats for 4+ over the past dozen years, and I/we like flying Qantas! The rest of the family are well on their way to LTG... another reason I value SC!

Who knows - LTP may appear down the track .... but that's not the reason I stick around.
