Feeling a little worried about some upcoming travel arrangements - do I have cause for concern here?
Work has booked me on a Friday morning 0600 MEL to SYD, arriving 0725; then 0950 SYD to LAX. This is all on the same booking, so my baggage will be checked through (I assume).
I've separately booked rewards seats for my partner on the same flights. Unfortunately I've booked his MEL to SYD and SYD to LAX reservations separately, and the Virgin call centre can't connect the flights into a single itinerary. They've advised me it's not guaranteed his luggage will be checked through, so we should plan to collect from domestic and recheck at international.
Will we have enough time to do this? I'm guessing we do, but it's... nagging at me, and I'd be more comfortable with advice from others
Haven't ever flown internationally from SYD, only MEL.
I'll see if Virgin can connect his flights when we check in, but just planning for the worst case scenario. (Seriously, I have a recurring nightmare about missed filights and it's all coming to life, haha)
