Have Cathay been locked out of QR J awards?

Having a look at FlyerTalk forums it seems no one is able to book a QR J award from 2023, even when the online tool shows available awards.
You can get through the details page then the site errors when going to the payment page.

Anyone with greater insight have any idea if this is a permanent thing? It would dramatically reduce the value of Cathay points and transfers, and significantly reduce available award options to Europe from Australia/Asia.

It's possible Qatar has (either permanently or temporarily) lumped Cathay in the same basket as QF, and only allowing J awards within 119 days (approx)

I wonder if this is an issue with the Cathay website or QR blocking award space.

IMHO both are equally likely. Many people have reported issues with booking on the CX website since it merged the Asia Miles & Marco Polo Club programs last month -

Has anyone tried calling Cathay to complete the booking?

After a lengthy wait on the phone, the redemption booking agent was unable to see the flight that I could see.

Playing around with some different dates, it does look like the Y 249 day, J 119 day in advance rule is in effect now unfortunately.
This is a sad, sad day in frequent flyer land...

Gosh I just wasted an hour trying to find J redemption seats to Europe on QR using Cathay / Asia Miles points for May 2023 - obviously wasting my time!

With that in mind, even CX redemptions to Europe for April / May / June next year seem non-existent. Anyone managed to redeem flights to Europe for 2023?
