Hi

I am in a quandry, hoping someone here will have an answer. Flight to Fiji next Friday, trying to link the flight to Qantas Frequent Flyer so we can use our existing lounge passes.

Despite FA being in the Oneworld, Qantas won't recogonise the FA flight reference. I have checked and the flight is QF 3873 (operated by FA).

Qantas said to ring Fiji Airlines, they said ring Qantas.

All I want to do is get the flight into our Qantas FF so I can link our lounge passes. And of course get the points etc.

What am I doing wrong!

Any help would be really appreciated!

Helen

We know that access to our lounges is an important part of your journey. The following lounges are currently unavailable for complimentary one-time lounge pass linking:

  • Sydney International First Lounge
  • Melbourne International First Lounge
  • Brisbane International Lounge
  • Gold Coast Qantas Club
  • Darwin International Transit Lounge
  • Partner operated lounges in Los Angeles or London Heathrow
  • New Zealand lounges
To get the points you should be able to enter your PNR when logged in to QFF account. Was this a Qantas booking or a FJ booking with a codeshare?

The FA flight reference? Do you mean the PNR? Did you book a Qantas codeshare via Fiji Airways or via Qantas?
I booked thru Luxury Escapes (third party) they attached our Qantas Frequent Flyer numbers to the booking. So I want to link that Fiji Airways flight to our lounge passes. The issue seems to be that Qantas won't recogonise the Fiji Airways 6 character flight reference, so won't link it to our QFF

The bigger issue is they’re not accepting lounge passes for your flight

As noted above 1. Comp lounge passes are not being accepted at most of the international lounges right now
and 2. lounge invitations need to be linked against the QF PNR for the booking (ask Luxury Escapes). However I am pretty sure, specially under QF lounge pass rules, you probably will not be able to use a lounge pass for a FJ flight, with a FJ flight number, booked with FJ (even if LE booked it, if it's on FJ ticket stiock then it's booked with them).

ie: General pass T&C state:

General – can be used at any Qantas Club domestic lounge, Qantas International Lounge or Qantas operated International Business Lounge (excluding Los Angeles Tom Bradley Terminal) when departing on a Qantas or Jetstar flight number.

QF/JQ flight number required. Not FJ.

So I basically need to say to LE, re book me on the same flight but with the QF number instead. (Which I won't do as too much hassle). I tried booking business but it's sold out, and at $1700 extra per person each way for a flight under 4 hours, I wouldn't do that either. The passes are from Amex, I didn't realise they aren't being accepted

yes well as above you could not use a pass anyway at BNE international anyway so it is all a bit moot. Plus pretty sure LE would not be able to (let alone willing) to rebook as a codeshare flight as part of the package deal would be as a FJ flight on FJ stock almost certainly.

lounges are not worth that much anyway. enjoy fiji and don't worry about it.

Thanks for all the help, I just thought an easy fix to link the flight with the passes. Strange Qantas couldn't tell me when I rang them (->FF->Lounge Help). Guess won't be picking up the points of SC either.

Yes, you should be able to earn points and SC

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

(some) points and SC should be earned, even on the FJ flight number.

eg: Y fares BNE-NAN one way should earn 900 points and 10 SC (QF flight number would end 3300/25)

not the best, but not zero.

note: LE may book in some weird group or consolidator fare class that earns nothing.
So check your booking class, if you can. it should earn if booked in one of GNTVKLMOQSW (see the table here for FJ https://www.qantas.com/au/en/freque...uent-flyer-earn-categories:en:nn#fiji-airways)
