Has anyone heard of or used The Mileage Club?

I in no way suggest any one follows me, I'm just doing this to see if it works. if it is successful then great, if not I am out 2k, no big deal. As for the company if this is a trap then they have been doing it a long time.

I believe we all need to be careful, however if you look at a lot of things that the airlines do, they border on illegal.

so please do not follow me.

Wayne

i have no doubt the miles will post! the only uncertainty that arises is whether sq will pick it up (probably unlikely).

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Of course all FF programmes have different terms and conditions. This may not breach the rules of every single programme.

The company is completely legit and read many stories of success. However, as they say it is legal but against the policies of the airline. Given FF points and status have no real value other than what they give them, when they cancel for account and flights you have booked, there is nothing you can do. The broker is not responsible as they explicitly stated it.

Flyer talk had a lot of posts about these with both the success and failure stories.

If you do have any status then I wouldn't do it. If you don't have any status, flying soon, have the resources or time to deal with having your flight cancelled, it does have benefits but is it right? Legally yes morally?

So $1819 USD or $2390 AUD if you don't incur foreign fees on your CC. For an extra $110 AUD you could potentially purchase those 100,000 SQ points in a way that isn't against the T&Cs of the program and without the possibility of losing said points or having your account closed. YMMV.

Be interested to see Wayne if/when they hit in the Statement section where it lists they have come from.

I might be a b it naive, but at around AUD 2.5c per point, they are not cheap. on all the comparitive examples I checked out myself, there was not much difference between buying the points and just buying the ticket directly.

SQ Suites Class SYD-CDG Rtn $13,800 via SQ, if you can find dates that work for you it will cost you $5575 for the points and $1061 in taxes for $6626. A 52% saving.

In general, there are very few instances where economy class awards are cost effective - particularly when an airline charges a fuel surcharge. The likes of QF, BA, SQ don't usually represent good value (some exceptions like short haul one ways can be much cheaper using miles).

Back when the Aussie dollar was high, it was possible to get awards in business class to Europe via points buying for just a few dollars more than the regular economy class fare (which were also high because of the price of fuel).

Good on you but the fact they have arrived doesn't in itself mean that SQ won't find out and subsequently remove an/or close your account. I'm not pro and con this incidentally, just noting that apparent success doesn't mean they won't come back and audit you later for those more risk ave

Burmans you are right to be risk averse, all I can say is that the points seem to have the same Infomation (footprint)that comes when I transfer Amex points from my personal account, and I often transfer upto 450k in points for our trips to Europe. As I have said this was a bit of an experiment. And it may comeback and bite me on my bum.

Now that is interesting.

I wonder how this achieved?

For me to set up SQ transfer it needed my name to match my KF account. Or at least, and it was a long time ago, I thought it did.

My Amex points transfers show as:
Accruals
American Express Australia Limited MEMBERSHIP MILES TRANSFER

Is that the wording on what arrived?

Interesting. I knew it was possible to transfer Amex MR points to multiple accounts but thought restriction was to same surname.

P.S. Notice the profile change. Still remains on old posts.

I think that they are not moving points from one persons account to another, but have some connection to a company that offers points as rewards ie: I'm Coles and I buy points from an airline, then give them to me as a reward for purchasing an item. I do wonder if I ordered points using my Visa card if the transfer would be from Visa. I may have to check it out and see.
As the first order was on my Amex.

And and thanks for the note about my profile I was aware.

You might be right. They could be buying points from Amex and selling them?
