Wonder how this might potentially affect Virgin

Probably not massively unless it needs another capital injection.
If Hainan is truly in trouble, suspect other assets are worth a bit more than their VA stake
 
This is a bugger, especially as they've only just started the Cairns run. I was thinking this may be a good option, with VA status and good reports as to the airline itself. Not so good if they are on shaky ground.

The dogs are barking this - too big and too important for the Chinese govt to let fail - changes will be forthcoming but airlines will continue - well so I have been informed by some who claim to know.

It does put the part-stake in VA in more of a spotlight.
 
Given HNA owns its own leasing finance company it's a worry.
Guess it depends whether new Chair is as connected.

While big, they aren't as big as the tile - and in the central governments interest to let them fall if they ever want to sell off the others
