Over the years I've seen some different, interesting and certainly curious fares between BNE and MEL (Tullamarine) or MEB (Essendon).

JetGo recently went into voluntary administration, but they did BNE–DBO–MEB and BNE–WOL–MEB.

About five years ago we had the young Air Australia that also died.

You could potentially do MEL–WGA–SYD–BNK on Rex, but then you wouldn't even land in QLD.

Now I've just seen flights via OAG with Hahn Air Systems. Better yet, according to CheapOair, this flight is operated by Viva Air Colombia. What the heck?

Has anyone actually flown this route with Hahn before? Did you end up in Colombia or did you land at your ETA in Essendon?

Doesn't seem like you can book this flight on anything other than some random third party OTA. Curious to know if it's even bookable but when JQ airfares are $100 and QF sits at $189, I don't see why I'd pay $600+ unless hitting up ZQN for the weekend lol Thoughts?

It is actually an airline called Fly Corporate (see website secure.flycorporate.com.au where you can book directly).

I think the misleading airline references in the GDS are due to the fact that they use Hahn Air for the ticketing distribution (not sure why there FC flight numbers cause these strange combinations).

They primarily fly to various regional centres - Coffs Harbour, Dubbo, Orange, Tamworth, Armidale and others, mainly from Brisbane, but some SYD and MEB. The expense is for the access to the regional areas - and it makes no economic sense to transit via these centres for a BNE-MEB.

Many (lesser-known) airlines use Hahn Air for for ticketing and distribution if for some reason they can't do it themselves via the GDS. This is actually Hahn Air's core business model, although it is a real airline based in Germany with 2 scheduled routes.
