Im planning on accessing the Qantas club in Melbourne in a few weeks. Problem is i have four passes but there will be five of us travelling. One a 15 year old. Are you able to take a guest in at all with the passes?

Liam

Assuming the "passes" are the Qantas Club Invitations provided to Silver FF members or to certain Qantas branded Credit Card holders, then they do not entitle the holder of the invitation to take in a guest.

So technically you are one invitation short for the group. You could ask at the reception desk and as one guest is a child they may allow it, but be prepared to be declined according to the lounge access rules and the entitlement of the invitations.

I was recently denied access to the QP as a guest of someone travelling with a QC Invitation (not travelling myself, just seeing off).

To be honest I was a little surprised for the strict application of the rules; it was the Canberra QC on a Sunday morning at 0605 for a flight boarding at 0620. I'm an SG but it was a definite 'no' to accompny the invite holder in. Pleading had no effect... for 15 mins of lounge use I'd hoped the rules could have been relaxed just a bit.
Given the invitation will probably now be used on a crowded Friday afternoon with full bar access, I'm pretty sure Qantas is going to work out worse than the coffee and toast we probably would have grabbed before leaving... :D

It made be think about the Invitations and why they shouldn't also come with an optional guest, given that's standard as part of a normal membership.
