Thanks for sharing the article, I found it an interesting insight into aviation fleet management.

I'm less concerned by the age of the airframe and more interested in QF making sure maintenance schedules are adhered to (by happy, well paid engineers). As a customer, if they can refresh the cabins periodically and keep the aircraft in good nick and flying as long as they can I'd be ok with that (heaven forbid this could also be reflected in ticket prices 🙄) - probably better for the environment too, all things considered.

Agree, competent relaxed technicians who are allowed to raise problems.

Yes, as an outsider looking in, I think this is the main issue with QF for the short to medium term. The company seems to have many signs of a poor working environment and unsustainable corporate culture. Low morale in an airline is a little unsettling when you buckle in.
