Hi there,

I am looking at travelling to South America next year on holiday. Usually I am a solo traveller but this time I am contemplating a small group tour (max 20 pax).

Does anyone have any recommendations on a good quality tour? A couple of relevant facts to assist:

- I am a 50 yr old male in good health. Would prefer a group of people as travelling companions around my age.
- Travelling solo.
- Would be departing Melbourne, but happy to travel under my arrangements to South America.
- Would want to visit the following: Rio De Janeiro, Iguazu Falls, Buenos Aires, Sucre , La Paz, Copacabana, Lake Titicaca, Puno, Cusco, Ollantaytambo, Sacred Valley, Aguas Calientes, Machu Picchu, Lima. Other suggested points of interest are welcome.
- Time away would be 20+ days
- Moderate to high level of comfort etc.

Any ideas or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

You may not get one tour to cover all that - but could string several together. The companies below give discounts for 2nd etc trips.

I've done several Exodus trips now ( late 50s) and they are well organised, are executed " as advertised" and are usually 12-16 pax maximum of like minded, well traveled people.

Companies to check out include Intrepid (Aussie company)

and Exodus ( Uk company with Australian office). Make sure you use the Australian web site which does not include flights from the UK...

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I travelled with Tucan Travel, but quite a few years ago now (20 years!).
It's was small group (at one point there were only 2 of us) with a mixed age range, from about 18 - 55. It was one of those tours where they organise transport, accommodation and some activities, but you always had plenty of time for your own exploration. The tour guide was always on hand if need for advice on things to do, places to eat, etc and there to help out if anything went wrong. Uyuni Salt Flats are worth seeing, if you're nearby.
Tucan are still going strong 20 years later, so they must be doing something right. South America is an amazing place, I'm sure you'll love it.
