On a recent flight from KUL to SYD on MH141, I got a lovely beep at the gate where I was upgraded to J. The flight was full. Of course, the miles for my original class of travel haven't come through, so I'm going to have the joy of trying to claim those now...
Anyone else have experienced the op-up on MH? It'll be nice to keep tabs on these so we have a better idea of how or when these are more likely to occur.
I was originally on an N fare and I had used my Enrich number for this booking. I just dropped to silver status but should be back to gold soon.

i had a friend recently who asked at check-in for a Syd - KUL flight, the morning one, and paid $450.00 and got upgraded. same thing on the way home KUL - Syd, but for $550.00

I asked last week in KUL and they have a whole list of prices for paid upgrades at the front desk to the lounge. Just be careful as "busy" days cost more. Busy possibly means weekends. KUL-ADL was 1300MYR on non-busy days and 2000MYR on busy days, we were flying on Saturday. As the flight was very empty I did suggest that we'd take the 1300MYR upgrade but they insisted on 2000....
