We fly to Perth in a bit over a week and even though I doubt there will be a Exit row seat left for a bronze member, I would like a good view of L. Eyre (I believe there's water in it now).
That said, can you see much from the plane and if so, which seats have an unobstucted view. The aircraft will be a Qantas Boeing 767-300.
BTW, aren't exit row seats over the wings and hence give one a poor view?
Thanks in advance.

With the B767-300's it depends... The old BA ones (Version 2 if you look at seat guru - SeatGuru Seat Map Qantas Airways Boeing 767-338 Vers. 2 (763)) the emergency exits are not overwing, one is about a third of the way down the A/C with the other one about two thirds of the way down.

The Version 1 and 3 B767's both have overwing exits.

I'd suggest checking out seat guru as it will point out which "window" seats don't actually have windows, outside of that I'd say most of them would be ok.

Someone who has actually flow BNE-PER would need to say which is most likely going to be the best side to see lake Eyre.

Its pretty unlikely you will see it, its too far north of the more popular BNE-PTH tracks, but if you go close it will be out of the right hand side of the aircraft (or starboard).

Thanks for the tip re Seat Guru. What a great site. I've written down the seat numbers to try for when the time comes. I appreciate the beneifits of higher than bronze FF status now.

I have seen Lake Eyre with water - a great sight from the air. That was about 18-19 years ago, ASP to SYD, starboard side.
