Got an email from SQ this morning to say that the Connextion by Boeing Service that provided inflight internet access is being terminated. The termination is not by SQ but Boeing themselves.

There was a previous posting on this back in August:

Heres the link to the SQ website that reports the discontinuing of the service:

KrisFlyer News

Some good news though, the service is going be made available for free until it is terminated on December 31, 2006.

It was good while it lasted:( :(

LH is also offering free connexion until it ends. Makes sense to try to retain customer loyalty while they put together an alternative service.

Darn - I was looking forward (well hoping) to that being expanded not contracted :(. I never got to use it as I mostly fly QF. I wonder if the A380 will have an airbus driven service when it (eventually) comes on line.
