Sitting in SYD T3 J lounge looking out across the apron in to the hangers to see the freshly painted solid red tail (sans 'roo) of VH-OGP which after 17 years has been removed from service from the QF fleet.

OGP was the source of many delays for me!

Anyway, anyone know if it is heading to the graveyard or has some other unfortunate airline purchased her?

Heading to VCV. Saturday as per the QF fleet thread.

I had no idea what VCV was so googled it. Then found myself watching footage on youtube of VH-OJB (Longreach) taking off on its last flight (going to VCV) in April 2012. It was sad to watch :(

We wondered about that, and must have been in the lounge at the same time.

All the Qantas 744 have/had the word "LONGREACH" on them.

OJB was "Wunala Dreaming" until being renamed "Mount Isa" in 2003.

Going here from looks of it.

Do they store them for parts or on sell complete?

Both, either sold for rentry into service or more likely these days sold to be parted/scrapped.
