For what it's worth, PJs were offered on QF72 (SIN-PER) last week.
I just donated my personal stash of “worn once on a flight” PJs to a local women’s refuge and they were very pleased to receive them.Being realistic, Qantas pyjamas are pretty thin, and are not going to keep a homeless person warm. But where donated and washed PJs could be really useful is women's shelters (the ones where women flee domestic violence). Women who flee in a hurry may not have time to pack things like PJs. They would love to receive QF ones and QF would get plenty of brownie points ("10,000 pyjamas donated to women's shelters").
Bravo!I just donated my personal stash of “worn once on a flight” PJs to a local women’s refuge and they were very pleased to receive them.
We did the same last year. Plus toiletries etc, Excellent use for them.I just donated my personal stash of “worn once on a flight” PJs to a local women’s refuge and they were very pleased to receive them.
I had this stunt once pulled on me. I stood my ground and insisted I want the size that fits me. They relented. On my most recent QF flight the crew only gave the L/XL sized pyjamas to men (I’m a guy), as the smaller ones were “reserved for women”. This was a first for me, and it’s super weird:
- I would have assumed that WPs would get first pick if there was a shortage of PJs
- In any case, anyone who’s met me will know that there is 0 chance I’m fitting into the larger PJs
- This was ex-SYD, so why are QF not restocking PJs at a home base?
Anyway definitely a first world problem, but I feel like it sums up the QF experience
Just refuse to fly unless they give you the correct pyjamas. There’s precedent! On my most recent QF flight the crew only gave the L/XL sized pyjamas to men (I’m a guy), as the smaller ones were “reserved for women”. This was a first for me, and it’s super weird:

Huh, good (or bad) to know that this wasn’t a one-time occurrence…I had this stunt once pulled on me. I stood my ground and insisted I want the size that fits me. They relented.
There’s every chance of you fitting into the L /XL regardless of how petite you are. The same cannot be said for people of size fitting into the M/L.On my most recent QF flight the crew only gave the L/XL sized pyjamas to men (I’m a guy), as the smaller ones were “reserved for women”. We often find out about these things on AFF, first. So, it pays to be an AFFer.Was this announced somewhere?

There are only two sizes: Too large, or too small.Curious on the dates and exact flights so I can check if I'm getting some spare oversized Winter PJ's on my upcoming travels!
Well yes, technically I fit in them, but I have to pull the drawstrings way past the size of the band because the elastic doesn’t come close to my waist at all. There’s every chance of you fitting into the L /XL regardless of how petite you are.
Yes, but doesn’t that mean they should give the M/Ls to the people who definitely fit them? I.e. they should have spare M/Ls if anything. The same cannot be said for people of size fitting into the M/L.
Yes, which is fine. It’s just that this wouldn’t be a problem if they had enough in the first place.I doubt the crew have the time or energy to give first dibs on size to Plats in J.
