Good J Fare Mel to LAX

First post, so bear with me...!

Am travelling Mel to SFO in early June for 3 days & seem to have got a great J fare Mel -LAX for $4,955 on combined Virgin/Delta (Travel.com.au) Other direct J fares to SFO seem to be around $7-8k..Anything I should be concerned about??..Will use United miles to get to SFO from LAX...

Checking on Virgin Australia for business class 03 June with return 08 June several fares listed at about $2500 each way. Total comes to $5095.37

5k is probably what the trip is worth. We have been sucked in by the previous lack of competition historically on that route.

When I have the time I fly via Asia for the same money to make the point!!!
