Good evening all!

Long time lurker, first time poster. I'm based in QLD and have been in the frequent flyer for quite a while now. Currently VFF platinum and looking forward to learning and sharing a bit into flying!

What I feel a bit annoying about Virgin is a lot of times their one-stop flight is cheaper than the direct flight (probably as they need to sell more seats in their network). For example, BNE-DPS is much more expensive than ADL-BNE-DPS or MEL-BNE-DPS on the same day, same international outbound flight. And MEL-DPS is more expensive than MEL-BNE-DPS. This sometimes makes me want to go with Jetstar or Qantas despite my status. Otherwise they've been great.

Airfares tend to be based on willingness to pay, rather than the cost of the service. This means that, paradoxically, a non-stop flight is usually more expensive than a flight between the same destinations with a stop in it. Airlines realise people are willing to pay a premium for the convenience of a non-stop service, even though the service with a stop costs more to operate.
