Gold upgrade to Club room!

This is the 2nd stay in a row, that as a lowly Gold member (BIB), I've received an upgrade to club room from superior queen. This stay is 5 nites and the last was similar. Anyone who knows my frequent destinations will know which CP.

I'm pretty happy. I wonder if they are trying to retain my loyalty given a certain opposition is due to open this year? Funny enough, the room was cheaper than both the HI and the HIX nearby.

... and I just received an email of 400 points as a welcome amenity. I received a chocolate and the normal water, so all was good.

Is it because you are regular guest rather than your status. Sorry I don't know your frequent destination so don't know where you are
 
Thing is, I'm not all that much of a regular. 4 or 5 times is all I've stayed here.
 
I have had a pretty good run at IHG.First ever stay with no status got upgrade at HI SCL.As gold 3 stays with significant upgrades.
Obviously swanning_it some of us are just nice folk.o_O:rolleyes::eek::D;)
